Why it works: These Swedish steels work when wet, when cold, at high altitudes and in the wind. They will work after being fully submersed or in very damp conditions. You will have no more worries about wet matches. The sparks generated by the LMF Firesteel are over 5,500 degrees and will last for thousands of strikes providing great value! How it works: The Light My Fire Firesteel is made of premium magnesium that when struck (scraped) with the included striker or an implement such as your knife emits super-hot (5,500 deg.) sparks. Because it is a bar of magnesium, it can be fully immersed in water and still will work perfectly.
