Atwood Rope has been manufacturing rope and cord products in the United States since 1985. Based in Ohio and operating as an official government contractor, the company produces cordage trusted by military, law enforcement, and civilian users who need gear that performs without question. Every product is made domestically using modern braiding equipment and materials tested to meet or exceed published specifications.
Atwood Rope is one of the few remaining domestic cordage manufacturers producing mil-spec paracord, micro cord, and nano cord at scale. Their government contractor status means the same quality control standards applied to military procurement carry over into every spool sold at retail. This is cordage built to spec, not built to a price point.
550 Paracord – The backbone of any cordage kit, Atwood's 550 paracord is a 7-strand, Type III cord rated to 550 pounds of tensile strength. Available in standard and Uber Glow variants, it serves everything from shelter building and lashing to everyday repair and gear rigging.
Ready Rope – Pre-wound 100-foot hanks of 550 paracord packaged in a compact, deployable format. Ready Rope eliminates loose coils and tangled storage, making it a practical choice for packs, vehicle kits, and go-bags.
Nano Cord – A .75mm diameter cord rated at 36 pounds of tensile strength. Nano cord handles fine binding, snare lines, sewing repairs, and precision tasks where full-size paracord is too bulky.
Micro Cord – Sitting between nano cord and paracord in both diameter and strength, micro cord fills the gap for lashing, trip lines, gear repair, and lightweight rigging where 550 paracord is overkill.
Bungee Shock Cord – Elastic shock cord built for securing tarps, lashing gear to packs, and creating tension-based systems. Available in multiple colors for field identification.
