JP Bladesmithing is the shop of Jason Potts, a Columbus, Georgia maker handcrafting hard-use EDC fixed blades and swords since 2018 under a simple promise: prepared for wherever your adventure takes you. The work leans utilitarian over flashy, with clean grinds and minimalist Kydex sheaths often set up for inside-the-waistband carry, the kind of detail that tells you the maker carries what he builds.
Good enough that the shop regularly closes its books to clear the order backlog, and 2026 marked Potts's first year exhibiting at Blade Show. His EDC fixed blades hit the sweet spot between a blade big enough for real work and thin enough to disappear in a pocket, most ground from 1/8 inch AEB-L stainless for a fine, stable edge, with Pop's ProCut, damascus, and 52100 carbon steel appearing across the line. The Fang EDC anchors the catalog in tanto and standard grinds, the Shinobi brings Japanese-inspired lines to a 2.35 inch pocket blade with the Shinobi XL stretching to 3.125 inches, the WharnFang runs a precise wharncliffe edge in EDC and XL sizes, and the Pocket Bowie packs a 3.6 inch classic profile into carry size. The Revnant covers the 52100 carbon steel slot.
