The AD-15 showcases Andrew Demko's Scorpion Lock—a mechanism unlike anything else in production folding knives. While Cold Steel's Tri-Ad lock has earned its reputation for strength, Demko engineered something entirely different here: a hybrid system that combines the security of a fixed blade with the convenience of a folder.
The magic is in the yoke. The upper portion of the handle is machined from 6061 aluminum billet with an integral back spacer concealing a compression spring. When you deploy the blade via thumb stud, the yoke rises and drops into a deep notch in the blade tang. Constant spring pressure combined with your natural grip strength locks the blade in place—virtually immune to failure under stress.
The lower handle pairs 3D-machined G-10 scales with steel liners for the rigidity a tactical folder demands. The saber-ground spear point blade features a false edge and spine jimping for controlled piercing and precision cutting. Fully ambidextrous operation means lefties aren't an afterthought.
Available in standard and Lite configurations, the AD-15 represents Demko's vision of what a sub-4-inch tactical folder should be: comfortable in hand, fast to deploy, and locked up like it means it.
