The Fallkniven Tre Kronor series takes its name from the Three Crowns of the Swedish coat of arms, and the knives live up to that heritage. This is Fallkniven's premium line, built around 3G laminated powder steel that delivers edge retention beyond what VG10 or CoS can achieve.
3G Powder Steel
The Tre Kronor blade core uses Super Gold Powder Steel heat-treated to 62 HRC—three points harder than standard Fallkniven VG10. This extreme hardness holds a working edge through extended use that would dull softer steels. Lamination between tougher outer layers prevents the brittle core from chipping under lateral stress. The trade-off is field sharpening difficulty; Fallkniven recommends their DC4 diamond and ceramic stone for maintenance.
Fixed Blade Models
The TK1 and TK2 share a 4-inch blade suited for hunting and utility work. The TK1 features desert ironwood or micarta handles with a nickel silver guard for collectors. The TK2 uses Thermorun for users who prioritize grip performance over aesthetics. The compact TK5 and TK6 pair a 3.15-inch blade with cocobolo or Thermorun handles respectively, sized for dedicated skinning and detail work.
Folding Knife Models
The TK3 lockback folder offers premium handle materials including cocobolo, jigged bone, and mother of pearl. The TK4 delivers the same 3G blade in a lightweight Zytel-handled package for everyday carry. Both folders maintain the convex grind that defines Fallkniven's cutting geometry.
