on Orders Over $99The Griffin 1946 X Series slipjoint in stonewashed brass brings a completely different feel to the platform. Where the titanium builds are light and modern, the brass version carries real weight in hand and develops a natural patina over time that makes it look more like yours the longer you carry it. Same S90V blade, same ceramic bearing pivot, same walk-and-talk — just a different personality.
The 2.79-inch CPM S90V drop point comes in a blackwashed finish at 0.12 inches thick. S90V holds a working edge far longer than most slipjoint steels, which means less time at the stones and more time actually using the knife. The blackwash pairs well with the brass — both materials are built to look better with age, not worse. Nail nick deployment on ceramic bearings gives the 1946 action that feels out of place on a knife in this category, in the best way possible.
True slipjoint with a half stop and medium pull. The walk-and-talk has snap and the half stop catches clean. No lock means the 1946 is legal in regions where locking folders are restricted, making it a go-to for anyone who crosses jurisdictions regularly or wants a non-locking option that doesn't sacrifice blade steel or build quality.
Stonewashed brass scales over titanium bolsters and liners with T8 titanium hardware throughout. Brass adds noticeable heft compared to the titanium and carbon fiber configurations, which some guys prefer — it gives the knife a planted, substantial feel during use. The stonewash finish tones down the initial brightness and gives the brass a muted starting point that patinas naturally from there. Handle measures 3.71 inches at 0.43 inches thick. Milled titanium clip set for tip-up carry. The 1946 measures 6.5 inches overall.
