Kunwu Cochise
The Cochise is Kunwu's cleaver, and one of the very few production folders anywhere built in Uddeholm Vancron. Kunwu Knives hangs the 3.46 inch blade on a titanium frame lock with dual deployment, thumb stud or thumb hole, and wraps it in Honeydew textured titanium running from stonewashed to full PVD black, with carbon fiber or Timascus inlays dressing the show sides. At 7.99 inches overall and 4.86 ounces, it carries as easily as anything else in the Kunwu lineup, straight edge forward.
What Is Vancron Steel
Uddeholm's nitrided powder steel, and one of the most wear-resistant alloys ever put into a folding knife. Kunwu runs it at 63 to 65 HRC, where its vanadium nitrides, rather than conventional carbides, buy extreme edge retention and a fine, stable edge at hardness most steels cannot hold. It is not a full stainless, which is exactly why the DLC coated and stonewashed builds earn their keep in wetter climates.
