The i3T EOS steps up from the i3E with a meaningful change in how you interact with the light — a forward-clicky tail switch replaces the twist-to-activate head, and a second output mode gives you a low option for tasks that do not need full power. It is still a single-AAA flashlight, still pockets without notice, but it behaves more like a purpose-built EDC tool than a keychain backup.
A Philips LUXEON TX LED paired with a TIR optic lens produces 180 lumens on high with a beam distance of approximately 60 meters. Low mode drops to 5 lumens for close-range tasks where full output would be blinding — reading, navigating a tent, checking a lock in the dark. The TIR lens delivers a soft, balanced beam with a defined hotspot and enough spill to maintain peripheral awareness. No strobe, no SOS, no hidden modes. Two levels and a switch. That is it.
The tail switch is a forward clicky — half-press for momentary activation, full press for constant on. Half-press again while on to toggle between low and high. The light always starts in low, which means you are never hit with 180 lumens when you just need a quick peek at something. There is no lockout mode, so if you are tossing it loose in a bag, pull the battery or clip it where the switch cannot be pressed accidentally.
Powered by a single AAA — alkaline, NiMH rechargeable, or lithium primary all work. On alkaline, high mode runs approximately 21 minutes at full output before stepping down. Low mode stretches to 16 hours. Drop in a NiMH cell and you get more consistent regulation across the discharge curve. The battery is user-replaceable through the unscrewing tailcap, so there is no proprietary cell and no charging cable to carry. When the light dims, swap the battery and keep moving.
The aluminum alloy body runs 3.5 inches long and 0.59 inches in diameter at 1.44 ounces with the battery installed. Double-helix knurling on the body provides grip without being aggressive on pocket fabric. A two-way pocket clip sits just below the tailcap — bezel up for standard pocket carry, bezel down for hat-brim mounting or hands-free use. IPX8 waterproofing handles submersion to 2 meters, and the body is rated for 1.5-meter drops. Multiple colorways and limited editions rotate through the lineup.
Both run on a single AAA. The i3E gives you 90 lumens, one mode, and a twist interface in a shorter body built for keyring duty. The i3T gives you 180 lumens, two modes, a dedicated tail switch, and a pocket clip in a body designed for EDC carry. If you want it on your keys, grab the i3E. If you want it clipped in your pocket next to your knife, the i3T is the better tool.
