Rodrigo Palmentieri handcrafts fixed blade knives in Esther, Santa Fe, Argentina. A relative newcomer to the knife world, Palmentieri brings the skills of a lifetime craftsman to the bench, and it shows in the functional design and fine finish work of every blade that leaves his shop, joining a proud Argentine tradition of handmade cutlery built for actual use.
Our Palmentieri selection centers on the Amigo II, a compact working fixed blade built around a san mai blade, the three-layer construction that laminates a hard cutting core between tougher outer steel for an edge that stays keen inside a blade that takes abuse, a technique our knife steel guide covers in depth. Handles run canvas micarta in black, red, green, and grey combinations alongside bone white Richlite, each shaped for a full working grip. Handmade in small numbers by a single maker, each Amigo II is photographed individually, so the knife pictured is the knife that ships, with all the small signatures of a hand-built blade included.
