The Broadside is a Bark River custom build that pairs a versatile utility blade with a genuinely unique handle. Each Broadside is hand-fitted in small batches, making this a good pick for collectors and users who want a working knife with individual character.

Blade

The 4.375" blade is ground from CPM-154 stainless steel to .185" thick with a satin finish and flat grind. CPM-154 is a premium particle-metallurgy stainless steel that offers strong edge retention along with good corrosion resistance, making it easy to maintain in the field or kitchen. The flat grind runs from spine to edge for a clean, efficient slicing geometry.

Handle

This example uses lavender spalted maple, a natural wood with dark spalting lines running through pale grain, stabilized for durability and set off with pink and black liners and mosaic pins. Spalted maple is a hardwood that has begun natural fungal decay, which creates the streaked figure before the wood is stabilized to halt further breakdown. At 6.31oz, the knife carries comfortably without feeling heavy.

Carry

The Broadside ships with a leather sheath for belt carry. As a fixed blade there is no lock to operate - the tang runs through the handle as one solid piece, giving the knife its strength and reliability in hard use.
