The Bark River Kephart 3V is a knife steeped in history dating back to the early 20th century and was patterned after the knife carried by famed woodsman, Horace Kephart. Simplistic in design, this Bark River Kephart blade is built to work with a very practical spear point blade that is 4.25” long making it great for everyday chores around the camp or while out hunting. An ample handle of 4.5” in length allows even those who have large hands to get a sure, comfortable grip on this working knife.
Bark River took this classic design and built it out of CPM 3V super steel in a controlled environment taking advantage of 21st century tools and materials allowing for what may be the best Kephart ever built. At .093” thick this knife will slice and cut like a hot knife through warm butter. A weight of 4.5 ounces allows for easy, comfortable carry on your next trek into the woods or mountains. 100% built in the USA (including the sheath) by Bark River Knife and Tool. For collects, bushcrafters and everyday users alike the Kephart is a must have knife.
Blade is thin, but blade shape is very usefull.I can make good feather stick very easily. Mesquite Burl handel is deep and good. Wood handle go with Kephart.

When I first received the knife I was a bit disappointed in that the burl on one side was a brighter blue than the other.... I'm picky that way but there's no way to get around that sort of thing if you can't see the knife before you buy it..... I'm over that now and like knife a lot. It is simple in design and very light for its size. The 3v lives up to my expectations and the blue handle slabs don't look so different now....... I thank you all for your concern and service for all I receive at dlt. Best regards , as always

damn fine knife, my favourite! Very useful from slicing Sunday breakfast sausages to filleting fresh fish.

...it isn't the knife I thought I was getting. It is so hard to tell exactly what you are getting just by looking at pictures, and even reading the description. The blade on the Kephart is very thin...just like it is described...but it was still thinner than I thought it would be. I was looking for a general purpose, do everything, belt knife but because of the thin blade it really didn't fit the bill. Jason was kind enough to offer to exchange the knife for me, but I decided to use the knife more as a slicer in my camp cooking kit. It works great for this and it is the perfect addition to my camp knife armamentarium. I have the sheep horn handle and I really like it.

The B.R. Kephart fills the hand and handles very well. The quality of this knife is just wonderful. I have few knives that are as light and pleasant to use as this one, and yet still tough as nails!
