The Patriot Scout is the heavy of the Battle Horse Knives scout trio: nearly the same four inch blade as the Maverick Scout, but on 0.156 inch stock at seven full ounces, half again the steel in the same footprint. It is the scout for people who want their companion knife to stand on its own, drop point up front for opening game, 8.25 inches overall with a leather sheath.
Battle Horse Patriot Scout Flat or Saber Grind
The two grinds DLT stocks split the knife's personality. Owners who run the flat ground version call it outright slicy with a finely tapered tip, the pick for game work and camp cooking where the extra spine weight just adds confidence behind the cut. The saber grind is the bushcrafter's pick: the bevel starts high, the edge keeps backup steel, and the 4mm spine batons and drills without complaint. Same knife, two jobs, and the micarta in natural, green, or black matte wears the same on either. Handmade in Cambridge, Ohio.
