Slug
The Slug is the Battle Horse Knives answer to the fixed blade EDC question: 2.5 inches of O1 cutting edge on a knife that still gives you a full four finger grip. That is the trick of the design. At 6.6875 inches overall, nearly two thirds of the knife is handle, so a blade small enough to wear on your belt every day drives like something much bigger. Four ounces, leather sheath included, and enough edge to feather stick kindling when the everyday knife becomes the camp knife.
Battle Horse Slug Scandi and Saber Grinds
DLT stocks the Slug both ways: scandi for the wood-first crowd who want a pocket sized bushcrafter on their belt, saber for tougher all-around carry on the same 0.125 inch stock. Micarta comes in natural, green, or black matte on either grind, and a short run of individually numbered elk antler one of ones tops the saber side. If you are choosing between small Battle Horses, the Frontier First is the lighter, smaller collector's cut; the Slug is the one built to be gripped hard and used every day.
