The Woodsman is the small end of one of the deepest model lines in the Battle Horse Knives catalog: 2.875 inches of O1 drop point on a 7 inch, 4 ounce frame, the compact that rides your belt every day and still feather sticks, slices, and preps dinner in camp. A 2024 press review praised how naturally it balances and settles into the hand, and noted the card in every box naming the model, steel, grind, and the craftsman who built it, a family shop habit the big factories dropped long ago.
Battle Horse Woodsman Steel and Grind Options
This is the page where the choosing happens. The O1 versions come in scandi or flat grind for the classic carbon steel experience, while the flat ground CPM 154 versions bring a stainless powder steel for wet climates and food duty, including liner editions in orange or red. On top sit thirteen individually numbered one of ones: a dozen scandi elk antler builds with bolsters, the dressiest construction in the line, plus a lone flat ground maple.
