The Benchmade Dacian 203 is an everyday carry fixed blade that carries like a folder. It has a 3.54 inch CPM MagnaCut spear point on .12 inch stock, 7.57 inches overall, at 3.37 ounces, with a slim .39 inch Micarta handle that disappears on a belt and still fills your hand. It is built for the whole week, from opening packages at work to breaking down game on the weekend, and it is made in the USA with lifetime Benchmade LifeSharp service.
CPM MagnaCut, designed by metallurgist Larrin Thomas, gives you toughness that shrugs off a knot, edge retention that keeps you cutting, and rust resistance that handles blood and salt water, all in one steel. The spear point isn't built for one job. It slices food in camp, handles game, and keeps enough belly for general utility. Our comparison of every major knife steel covers MagnaCut in depth.
Every Dacian wears Micarta with full length grooves that keep a grip wet, bloody, or gloved. The 203-04 pairs blue denim Micarta with a bare MagnaCut blade, the 203BK-02 goes all black with black canvas Micarta and a black Cerakote blade, and the 203BT-03 sets brown canvas Micarta under a blue titanium Cerakote blade. Micarta also wears in with use, taking on the character of the hand that carries it.
The Dacian rides horizontally on the belt in a leather scout carry sheath with a Boltaron insert, so it has the look of leather with the retention of a molded sheath. Scout carry keeps it off your leg on the trail and out of the way when you crouch or sit. For more fixed blades built for field and daily work, see our Benchmade fixed blade knives.
