Benchmade Infidel
The Benchmade Infidel has been the benchmark American-made OTF knife since it arrived in 2006, carried by military, law enforcement, and serious collectors. It was designed by McHenry and Williams, the same team behind the Benchmade 710 that introduced the AXIS Lock. It pairs a double edge D2 dagger with a double action mechanism in a machined 6061-T6 aluminum handle. As part of Benchmade's Black Class duty line, every Infidel is made in Oregon City.
How the Infidel Double Action Works
The Infidel's thumb slide sits on the face of the handle rather than the side, so either thumb can reach it without shifting your grip. Push it forward and the blade fires straight out the front, pull it back and the blade retracts. The same mechanism does both, which is what double action means, and a stepped pattern on the slide keeps your thumb planted, even in gloves.
Benchmade 3300 Infidel and 3350 Mini Infidel
The full size 3300BK runs a 3.91 inch black coated dagger on .118 inch stock, 8.91 inches open and 5 closed, at 4.9 ounces. It carries on a tip down deep carry clip, or in the included Cordura sheath with a MOLLE compatible MALICE clip. The 3350BK Mini Infidel trims to a 3.1 inch blade, 7.1 inches open, at 3.4 ounces, an OTF dagger small enough for everyday pocket carry.
Why D2 in the Infidel?
D2 is an air-hardening tool steel run here at 60 to 62 HRC, prized for wear resistance and a long lasting edge.
