S90V Frame Lock with Titanium Handles

The BergBlades Mini Alpha takes the distinctive profile of the original Alpha, itself refined from the Iron Wolf design, and scales it down into a lighter, more pocket-friendly package. Designed primarily as a front flipper, the blade's fuller also makes for a smooth, satisfying reverse flick for those who prefer that style of deployment.

Blade

The 3.1" drop point blade is made from S90V steel with a Black DLC finish. S90V is a premium powder metallurgy steel known for exceptional edge retention thanks to its high vanadium carbide content, holding an edge longer than most steels between sharpenings. The DLC coating adds corrosion resistance and reduces glare while protecting the blade surface. The drop point shape balances a strong tip with a generous belly for everyday cutting tasks.

Handle

The handle is machined titanium, strategically milled to reduce weight while keeping the structure strong. Titanium resists corrosion and offers a strong strength-to-weight ratio, contributing to the knife's light 3.21oz carry weight. The contoured scales are shaped to let the knife disappear comfortably into your hand.

Carry

The Mini Alpha runs on ceramic bearings riding on hardened washers, with over-travel built into a hardened lock face for the frame lock mechanism. A frame lock uses a cutout section of the titanium handle itself to lock the blade open, engaging directly behind the blade tang. The pocket clip is positioned for right-hand, tip-up carry only, with reduced tension and added clearance for a smoother fit in jeans and shorts, though it may feel tight in thicker double-layer work pockets.
