The Story
The Mark 2, or MK2, went to war in the 1940s and came home a legend. It is still the knife most people picture when they hear "American fighting knife." Plenty of makers have taken a run at it since. We set out to build the best one.
That meant keeping what made the original great and improving the rest. Matt Martin of Vehement Knives redrew the pattern with a maker's eye. American Knife Company built it in CPM 3V, a powder steel known for its toughness, and gave it a thicker tang so the knife is solid from tip to pommel. In place of stacked leather, the handle is stacked Micarta: the same classic look, and it will not swell, shrink or break down with age.
Each one comes in a premium American-made leather sheath. Like everything AKC makes, it is built in small batches.
