The Case Axe Handle is an all-new pattern co-designed with custom maker Bill Ruple, marking a rare moment in Case's history of introducing a completely original shape rather than a new finish on an existing design. This Pocket Worn Old Red Barn version comes with the broken-in look of a knife that's already seen years of carry, appealing to collectors and everyday slipjoint users alike.
Blade
The 3.05" clip point blade is made from Case Tru-Sharp stainless steel with a mirror polished finish. Tru-Sharp is a high-carbon stainless that holds an edge longer than conventional stainless while offering strong corrosion resistance, so it's easy to maintain for daily use. The clip point shape gives a fine, controllable tip suited to detail work.
Handle
The handle is Old Red Barn corn cob jigged bone, a natural bone material textured with a corn-cob jigging pattern and dyed a weathered red tone to mimic decades of pocket wear. Bone handles develop character over time and have long been a Case signature material. The knife weighs 2.85oz, making it a comfortable carry at 3.9375" closed.
Carry
This is a slipjoint, meaning the blade is held open by spring tension rather than a locking mechanism, opening and closing with the traditional snap Case is known for. It's sized to drop easily into a pocket without a clip, carried the way slipjoint users have for generations.
