The Cold Steel Espada XL is a massive folding knife inspired by classic Spanish Navaja knives, built for those who want serious cutting capability in a folder. Designed by Andrew Demko, this is one of the largest production folders on the market and is suited to users who want a big blade without carrying a fixed knife.

Blade

The 7.5" clip point blade is made from AUS-10A stainless steel with a black finish. AUS-10A is a Japanese stainless steel that holds a good edge while offering solid corrosion resistance, and the black coating adds an extra layer of protection against the elements. The clip point shape keeps the tip fine for detail work while the long blade provides plenty of cutting power.

Handle

The handle is built from G-10, a fiberglass laminate that stays grippy in wet conditions and resists cracking or warping. At 14.8oz, the Espada XL has substantial heft that matches its oversized proportions.

Carry

The Tri-Ad Lock is a reinforced lockback design known for its strength and resistance to lock failure under hard use. The knife also features Cold Steel's thumb plate, which can catch on the pocket edge during the draw to help open the blade as it comes out. The pocket clip is positioned for right-hand, tip-up carry only.
