The Crooked Creek is the Battle Horse Knives answer to the knife most people actually need most days: 3.5 inches of flat ground O1 at 3.5 ounces, 7.125 inches overall, an everyday fixed blade that disappears on a belt and still finishes real work. More than half the current run wears individually numbered stabilized maple, no two knives alike.
Battle Horse Crooked Creek Exposed Tang Design
The detail that separates it from other small flat grinds is the exposed full tang at the pommel: proud steel at the butt that takes the abuse when you need a light hammer for a tent stake, the job that cracks scales on knives that hide their tang. The flat grind balances slicing against enough strength for light batoning, and at this weight there is no reason to leave it home between trips. Micarta comes in natural, green, and black matte alongside the numbered maples, with a leather sheath that sets up for belt or pack carry. If you want a bit more blade in the same flat ground vein, the Brumby steps up to 3.875 inches. Handmade in the USA.
