The AD20 XXX is the largest model in Demko's AD20 platform, built for users who want maximum blade presence without sacrificing cutting performance. Andrew Demko designed this oversized folder with careful attention to grind geometry, proving a large knife can still slice efficiently rather than just look imposing.

Blade

The 4" clip point blade is ground from CPM-3V, a tool steel prized for exceptional toughness while still holding a usable edge. At a hefty .250" thick, the blade resists chipping and rolling under hard use, and the stonewash finish hides wear while adding corrosion resistance. The clip point shape gives a fine, controllable tip suited to piercing and detail work despite the blade's overall mass.

Handle

Handle scales are carbon fiber, a lightweight woven composite known for its rigidity and durability without adding bulk. Even with a substantial .650" handle thickness, the carbon fiber construction helps keep total weight to a manageable 9.25oz for a knife this large.

Carry

The Shark Lock is Demko's proprietary locking mechanism, a spine-mounted lever that locks the blade open with a rotating tooth and unlocks with a simple push, similar in feel to an axis-style lock but built to Demko's own spec. The pocket clip is set up for right-hand, tip-up carry only. This is a manual folder, opened by hand, not an automatic.
