The Fallkniven Northern Lights series represents the pinnacle of the company's fixed blade lineup. Named for figures from Norse mythology, these collector-grade knives pair laminated steel blades with traditional stacked leather handles that develop character with use.
Stacked Leather Construction
Northern Lights handles use specially selected ox-hide leather washers compressed onto the full tang. Unlike synthetic materials, the stacked leather is impervious to water, oil, and solvents while forming to the user's grip over time. The natural material develops a rich patina through use—each knife becomes visually unique to its owner. Stainless steel guards and aluminum pommels complete the construction.
The Nordic Pantheon
The series spans five sizes named for Norse deities. The NL1 Thor carries a substantial 10-inch blade for heavy camp work. The NL2 Odin at 7.88 inches handles demanding wilderness tasks. The NL3 Njord offers a balanced 5.9-inch blade for general use and hunting. The NL4 Frej provides a practical 5.1-inch option for camping and hiking. The NL5 Idun rounds out the series with a 4-inch blade suited for hunting and utility work.
