Fellhoelter manufactures precision bolt-action pens through CNC machining operations in the United States. The TiBolt series features 100-percent titanium construction, including body, tip, bolt mechanism, shaft, torx screws, cap, and pocket clip, with only the ink cartridge, spring, and O-ring as non-titanium components. The bolt-action deployment system uses a spring-loaded side lever to extend and retract the writing tip, accepting Parker-style, Fisher Space Pen, and Schmidt EasyFlow refills. Full-size TiBolt models measure approximately 5.5 inches in length with 7/16-inch diameter, machined from Grade 9 3AL-2.5V titanium for the body and Grade 5 6AL-4V titanium for internal components. The modular design allows field disassembly using titanium torx screws. Surface treatments include spiral fluting, straight fluting, stonewash finishes, and laser engravings in Celtic, Dragon, Warthog, and WWII patterns. TiCkler models offer alternative grip configurations while TinyBolt pens accept Lamy M22 refills in a compact format.
Fellhoelter also produces TiBolt pens in copper and brass for users preferring non-titanium materials with different weight characteristics and patina development over time. Copper models provide heavier writing feel while brass versions offer traditional warmth and antimicrobial properties. Standard configurations feature smooth bodies while Deluxe versions add milled slots and divots for enhanced grip texture. Two-tone finishes combine different surface treatments on single pens. G2 models provide compact carry options at reduced length compared to full-size variants. Brian Fellhoelter, originally a custom knifemaker, developed the TiBolt as the original bolt-action titanium pen through precision machining capabilities applied to EDC writing instruments. All machining and finishing operations occur domestically with attention to tight tolerances required for smooth bolt operation and secure refill retention.
