on Orders Over $99The Tidioute is a classic American slipjoint from Great Eastern Cutlery, a modern revival of the traditional folders made in the Pennsylvania Dutch country in the early 20th century. The Texas Stogie model carries forward that heritage with two blades and a vintage aesthetic, appealing to collectors and traditional knife users who appreciate old-school craftsmanship.
Blade
The 1095 carbon steel clip and pen blades measure 3.70" long with a satin finish. 1095 is a simple high-carbon steel with excellent edge retention and ease of sharpening, though it will rust without proper care. The clip point is ideal for controlled cutting tasks, while the pen blade is well-suited for detail work. Both blades have plain edges.
Handle
Ember orange micarta is a resin-impregnated linen material, known for its durability and smooth texture. Micarta handles are resistant to moisture and wear, making them ideal for everyday carry. The handle measures 0.48" thick and has a classic slipjoint bolster.
Carry
This is a non-locking slipjoint with nail nick openers on both blades. The knife closes to 4.875" and weighs 4oz, making it a lightweight pocket knife. The overall length is 8.5" when open.
