on Orders Over $99The Griffin 1946 X Series slipjoint in green crystal titanium is one of the more distinctive configurations in the lineup. Same platform that makes the 1946 one of the best modern slipjoints on the market, dressed in a green anodized crystal titanium scale set that catches light differently depending on the angle and grain structure of each individual piece.
The 2.79-inch drop point blade runs CPM S90V at 0.12 inches thick with a blackwashed finish. S90V is a premium high-vanadium stainless that holds a working edge longer than most people expect from a slipjoint. The blackwash treatment gives the blade a low-profile look that wears well over time without showing every mark. Nail nick deployment on a ceramic bearing pivot keeps the action clean and smooth in both directions.
Half stop, medium pull, true slipjoint. The walk-and-talk snaps with purpose and the half stop catches with no ambiguity. If you carry in areas where locking knives are restricted, the 1946 solves that problem without asking you to compromise on steel or build quality. The ceramic bearings are a detail that sets this apart from most production slipjoints on the market.
Green crystal titanium scales sit over titanium bolsters and liners with T8 titanium hardware throughout. The crystal structure in the titanium is a result of controlled slow-cooling in a vacuum furnace, which forms dendritic grain patterns unique to each set of scales. The green anodization brings out those patterns with a cool, deep tone that shifts under different lighting. Handle measures 3.71 inches at 0.43 inches thick. Milled titanium clip set for tip-up carry. The 1946 measures 6.5 inches overall.
