on Orders Over $99The Griffin 1946 X Series slipjoint in green canvas Micarta is the most traditional-looking build in the lineup. Micarta and a stonewashed blade give this configuration a classic, understated feel that doesn't scream for attention — it just works. Same CPM S90V steel and ceramic bearing pivot as the premium titanium and brass builds, but in a package that leans more toward a working knife than a showcase piece.
The 2.79-inch CPM S90V drop point comes stonewashed at 0.12 inches thick. The stonewash gives the blade a matte, even appearance that hides light scratches and keeps the knife looking consistent through heavy use. S90V underneath that finish is the same high-vanadium stainless that makes the rest of the 1946 lineup punch above its class in edge retention. Nail nick deployment on a ceramic bearing pivot gives the action a buttery quality that traditional slipjoint guys don't expect until they feel it.
Half stop, medium pull, true slipjoint. The walk-and-talk is clean and the half stop locks in with confidence. No locking mechanism means the 1946 travels freely into jurisdictions where locking folders get you sideways looks or worse. For daily carry guys who rotate between states or countries, that matters.
Green canvas Micarta scales over titanium bolsters and liners with T8 titanium hardware throughout. Micarta is one of those handle materials that actually improves with use — it develops grip texture and darkens slightly as it absorbs oils from your hands. The green canvas weave gives it a subdued, organic look against the stonewashed blade. Handle measures 3.71 inches at 0.43 inches thick. Milled titanium clip set for tip-up carry. The 1946 measures 6.5 inches overall.
