The Heretic Martyr is back. Originally a side opening automatic in aluminum and titanium, it returns after years away as the Martyr Manual, a button lock flipper on a glass packed polymer chassis with a CPM MagnaCut tanto. It is the most accessible way into Heretic Knives, keeping the premium steel and hard use attitude at a far lower starting point.
The Martyr opens with a flipper tab and locks on a button lock, so it deploys fast with one hand and closes just as easily by pressing the button with your fingers clear of the edge. Hardened stainless internals and stainless liners inside the polymer keep the action consistent cycle after cycle, making it a strong value among our folding knives.
The Martyr runs a 3.5 inch CPM MagnaCut tanto on 0.154 inch stock, 8.4 inches open with a 4.9 inch handle, at just 3.88 ounces. The tanto's reinforced tip stands up to piercing and harder work, and MagnaCut pairs high toughness with outstanding corrosion resistance for a knife that lives in a pocket every day. Our comparison of every major knife steel explains why.
Molding the handle from glass packed polymer cuts weight sharply without losing rigidity, and the textured surface keeps a sure grip in wet or cold hands. It also shrugs off drops and scrapes that would mar a machined aluminum handle. The ambidextrous pocket clip carries tip up on either side. For a Heretic button lock in machined aluminum, step up to the Heretic Pariah.
Choose a stonewash blade on black polymer, a stonewash blade on OD green, a black tactical build, or a bronze blade with bronze hardware. Every Martyr is made in the USA.
