Rick Hinderer fixed blades get less attention than the XM folders, but they carry the same fit and finish and the same made in the USA build. The lineup runs from a pocket sized MagnaCut EDC blade to a 7 inch tribute to the WWII fighting knife, rounding out Rick Hinderer knives and our wider range of fixed blade knives.
The Hinderer Flashpoint takes design cues from the XM-18 and shrinks them into a 3 inch CPM MagnaCut sheepsfoot at just 2.4 ounces and 6.625 inches overall. The contoured G-10 handle fills the hand despite the small footprint, and it ships in a low profile Kydex sheath with an Ulti-Clip for pocket, belt, or waistband carry. It comes in stonewashed or Battle Black blades with a range of G-10 colors.
The Hinderer Emmett is Rick's hunting and utility fixed blade, inspired by the old West and built for the field. The current run carries a 3.83 inch CPM MagnaCut sheepsfoot on 0.165 inch stock with canvas Micarta scales in black, burgundy, green, or natural, spine jimping for control, and a leather sheath. It is a natural fit alongside our hunting knives.
Released for the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and made with KA-BAR's blessing, the Hinderer KA-BAR is Rick's take on the classic KA-BAR fighting utility knife. It keeps the 7 inch clip point but moves to 3/16 inch CPM 3V, a very tough tool steel, adds a finger choil, integrates the guard into the tang with anodized aluminum bolsters and pommel, and swaps the stacked leather for 3D machined Micarta.
MagnaCut on the Flashpoint and Emmett gives outstanding corrosion resistance for carry and field dressing, while 3V on the KA-BAR favors toughness for chopping and hard use, and our comparison of every major knife steel explains the tradeoff. Replacement and upgrade leather sheaths, including Ranch series sheaths, live in our Hinderer beads and accessories.
