The Deka is Hogue's purpose-built EDC folder designed by Allen Elishewitz. It runs a 3.25-inch blade on the ABLE Lock platform in two blade profiles — a clip point and a modified wharncliffe — each optimized for different cutting tasks. The clip point handles general-purpose work with a versatile belly and a strong tip. The Wharncliffe delivers a straight cutting edge with an aggressive tip geometry built for precision draw cuts.
Blade steel depends on the handle configuration. Polymer-framed Deka models run CPM MagnaCut at 62-64 HRC, making the entry-level version the highest-performing steel option in the lineup. G-10 and carbon fiber variants use CPM-20CV at 59-61 HRC. Both steels are cryogenically heat treated and hand sharpened. At roughly 2.1 ounces in the polymer configuration, the Deka is one of the lightest full-featured EDC folders in its class — with a harder blade steel than most of its competition at a lower price point.
Handle options span three tiers. Injection-molded polymer frames come in black, blue, and FDE for maximum weight savings. G-10 scales are available in solid colors and G-Mascus patterns including Black, Green, Blue Lava, and Dark Earth. The Collector Series elevates the platform with carbon fiber frames, tritium inserts, and premium finishes.
The ABLE Lock provides fully ambidextrous operation with a spring-loaded hardened steel bar that keeps fingers clear of the blade path during closing. Every Deka ships with a deep carry pocket clip for right or left-hand tip-up carry and ambidextrous thumb studs for deployment.
