Hogue Deka
The Deka is Hogue's purpose-built EDC folder designed by Allen Elishewitz, anchored by the ABLE Lock crossbar mechanism and built around a 3.25-inch blade in two profiles. The clip point handles general-purpose work with a versatile belly and strong tip, while the modified wharncliffe delivers a straight cutting edge with aggressive tip geometry for precision draw cuts. Made in the USA at roughly 2.1 ounces in polymer trim, the Deka is one of the lightest full-featured EDC folders in its class.
CPM MagnaCut and CPM-20CV Blade Steel Options
Blade steel tracks the build tier. Polymer-framed Dekas run CPM MagnaCut at 62 to 64 HRC for upgraded edge retention and corrosion resistance. Standard G-10 production has been transitioning from CPM-20CV (59 to 61 HRC) to MagnaCut, with both in circulation depending on the configuration. Collector Series carbon fiber variants run CPM-20CV with green tritium inserts in the pivot collar, and the Deka Manual Trainer uses 154CM in a tumbled finish on blue peel ply G-10 for safe practice. Every blade is cryogenically heat treated and hand-honed before leaving the floor.
Polymer, G-10, and Carbon Fiber Handle Options
Handle construction spans three tiers. Injection-molded polymer frames come in black, blue, and FDE for maximum weight savings at the entry price point. G-10 scales are available in solid colors and G-Mascus patterns including Black, Green, Blue Lava, and Dark Earth, with Hogue's layered phenolic resin process producing damascus-style color shifts as the material is machined. The Collector Series elevates the platform with carbon fiber frames, premium blade finishes, and green tritium inserts in the pivot collar for low-light identification.
ABLE Lock Crossbar Mechanism and Deep Carry Configuration
The ABLE Lock — Ambidextrous Bar Lock Enhanced — uses a spring-loaded hardened steel bar that wedges into the blade tang for fully ambidextrous operation, paired with Wolff wireform springs for long-term durability. The mechanism keeps fingers clear of the blade path during closing and supports left-or-right-hand deployment via dual thumb studs. Every Deka ships with a tip-up deep-carry stainless steel pocket clip that swaps sides via included Torx hardware, and replacement clip and screw kits are stocked separately in tumbled and black oxide finishes.

DLT Trading carries exclusive Deka configurations in CPM MagnaCut with OD Green G-10 handles and FDE Cerakote blade finishes, available in both clip point and wharncliffe profiles. This is the only G-10 Deka pairing currently shipping in MagnaCut steel rather than the legacy CPM-20CV configuration, putting the upgraded steel into the G-10 build tier exclusively through DLT.
