Hults Bruk Satra 17" Hatchet - American Hickory - 841106

Swedish Steel Fixed Blade with Hickory Handle

The Hults Bruk Satra is a 17 inch hatchet built for kindling, camp chores, garden work, and light chopping. It sits between a compact hatchet and a full-size forest axe, giving campers, gardeners, and everyday outdoor users a longer, more efficient swing while still staying portable enough to pack along.

Blade

The head is hand-forged from proprietary Swedish steel and finished in a forge-black coating, then hand-sharpened at the factory. The updated Yankee-pattern geometry helps the edge release cleanly from wood on repeated swings, reducing effort and improving chopping efficiency over long use.

Handle

The 17 inch handle is American hickory, a dense, shock-resistant hardwood long favored for striking tools because it absorbs impact without transferring excess vibration to the hand. The 1.3 lb head paired with this handle length adds leverage and chopping power beyond what a standard hatchet offers.

Carry

The Satra ships with a leather sheath that covers the edge for safe storage and transport. The sheath allows the hatchet to be carried in a pack or set aside at the campsite without exposing the blade.
