Jeff Davidson Custom Knives is the work of an ABS Certified Journeyman Smith handcrafting blades in Fort Worth, Texas under the JDCK mark. Davidson tried forging his first knife at age six on a brick anvil in the backyard, and at 18 he traveled to Wyoming for an apprenticeship under legendary Mastersmith Ed Fowler, working the ranch by day and forging by night, seven days a week.
Yes, and the credentials are checkable: an American Bladesmith Society Journeyman Smith rating, membership in the Texas Knifemakers Guild, and a machinist's background that shows in the fit and finish of every blade. Davidson builds both full custom forged pieces and stock removal models, cuts his own leather and Kydex sheaths in-house, and backs knife and sheath alike with a lifetime warranty. He also gives back to the craft, teaching forging classes and hosting the annual JDCK Hammer-In that draws top smiths from around the country.
