Jeff Davidson handcrafts custom knives and forged blades at his Fort Worth, Texas workshop under the JDCK brand. Davidson's bladesmithing journey began in childhood and includes an apprenticeship under renowned knifemaker Ed Fowler in Wyoming, where he learned both forging techniques and ranch work ethic. His background as a machinist informs his approach to knifemaking, blending traditional forging methods with modern fabrication skills. Davidson produces both full custom forged knives and stock removal models like the Ibex Hunter, a medium-sized hunting knife designed for outdoor tasks including hunting, hiking, and camping with a rounded ricasso that provides a pinch grip for detail work. Each knife receives hand grinding and finishing with professional heat treatment, using quality steels and a variety of handle materials. Davidson also teaches Fundamentals of Forging classes to aspiring bladesmiths, passing on the craft skills he developed over years of metalworking experience. All JDCK knives include a lifetime warranty against material flaws and manufacturing defects.
