NANUK takes its name from the Inuit word for polar bear, and the company once proved the point by letting an actual polar bear try to open one of its cases. Built by Plasticase at its factory in Terrebonne, Quebec since the brand's launch, every NANUK case is injection molded from proprietary NK-7 resin, a polypropylene toughened for impact resistance across brutal temperature swings, sealed to IP67 waterproof rating with an automatic pressure release valve, and closed by the patented PowerClaw latching system that clamps the lid shut with compressive force and slide locks. All of it is guaranteed for life.
We stock the two cases purpose-built for knife collectors. The NANUK 909 holds 8 folding knives up to about 5.6 inches closed in pre-cut protective foam, in a slim profile that meets airline carry-on regulations, while the larger 915 organizes 28 folding knives in a footprint that still travels easily. Both carry reinforced metal eyelets for TSA-accepted padlocks, which matters when a case full of Spyderco, Benchmade, and Microtech crosses an airport.
