Poikilo Blade, PKB for short, is a folding knife brand founded in 2021 by Andy Wang and Vince Wang, two collectors and enthusiasts whose shared obsession with precision craftsmanship and mechanical design eventually became a production knife company. The name comes from the Greek poikilos, meaning varied or diverse, the same root as poikilotherm, the biology of lizards that adapt to whatever environment they land in, which is why the flagship folder is called the Gecko and why the brand deliberately refuses to lock into a single aesthetic or formula.
Andy has been active in the knife community since 2007, developing a collector's eye for fit, finish, and execution long before PKB existed. Vince came to the knife world in 2014 with a focus on design, mechanics, and performance. The two connected in 2016 through a shared interest in balisongs, an obsession that lives on in PKB's PM series flipping knives, and spent years in ongoing dialogue about knives across every category before formally launching the brand.
The Gecko is the thesis: an M398 framelock deployed by front flipper or thumb hole, offered in configurations from clean slabs to precision-milled hole patterns that trim weight and change the look entirely, all in PKB's signature pearlescent and dark stonewash finishes. The Carmen carries Bohler M390 through S1, S2, and full DLC builds, while the Salvator, Marlin, and Mundus Penitentia expand the M398 range and the CK Casque layers triple titanium inlays into its handle.
