The Reate 9D-V2 is the second generation of the District 9, the flipper that established Reate's reputation for custom grade fit and finish at production scale. The V2 keeps the platform that made the original work and updates the materials, running a 3.50 inch clip point blade in 154CM at .137 inch stock across an 8.13 inch overall length.
Reate 9D-V2 Flipper Action and Lockup
Deployment comes from an oversized ball bearing pivot behind a flipper tab, and the titanium frame lock handles lockup with no play once the blade seats. Weight sits at 4.8 ounces on a 4.63 inch handle, which reads substantial in hand without becoming pocket heavy. Carry is a right hand, tip up clip.
Handle Materials and Blade Finishes
154CM is a fine grained stainless that sharpens easily and resists corrosion, which suits a knife built for daily use rather than display. Handles run bead blasted, dark bead blasted, bronze blue, and black DLC titanium, with FatCarbon inlays in Lava Flow, White Storm, and Frost patterns alongside standard carbon fiber.
