The Reiff Rut is a hunting knife built for field dressing and camp chores, with a blade profile and jimping layout designed around clean, efficient game processing. It's suited to hunters who want a dedicated skinning and quartering tool that also handles everyday bushcraft tasks.

Blade

The 3.81" blade is made from CPM MagnaCut steel with a stonewash finish, ground at 0.14" with a high flat saber grind. MagnaCut is a modern powder steel that delivers strong edge retention along with excellent corrosion resistance and toughness, making it well suited to the wet, acidic conditions of field dressing. The straight-back profile puts a flat spine behind the tip for control, the precision tip handles delicate cape work, and the sweeping belly powers long skinning and quartering cuts. Four jimping points along the spine and handle give constant tactile reference for finger placement, even in low light or with wet or gloved hands.

Handle

The handle is black canvas Micarta, a composite made from linen or canvas fabric layers saturated with resin and compressed under heat. It's durable, grippy when wet, and resistant to cracking. At 5.4oz total weight, the Rut stays light and maneuverable through extended field work.

Carry

The Rut ships with a black Kydex modular sheath built for ambidextrous carry. Kydex is a rigid, weather-resistant polymer that holds its shape and allows for a secure friction-fit retention of the blade, with mounting options to configure carry to the user's preference.
