MagnaCut Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Reiff Rut is a purpose-built hunting knife designed for field dressing and skinning, from the first cape cut to the last quarter loaded on the pack. It also doubles as a capable camp and bushcraft blade for everyday outdoor work.

Blade

The 3.81" blade is made from CPM MagnaCut steel with a stonewash finish. MagnaCut is a modern powder metallurgy steel that combines excellent edge retention with strong corrosion resistance and toughness, making it well suited to the wet, high-contact work of field dressing. The straight-back profile offers a flat spine for finger or thumb control, a precision tip for delicate cape work, and a full sweeping belly for long skinning and quartering cuts. The high flat saber grind slices through hide and connective tissue without wedging. Jimping is placed on the spine near the tip, at the front and rear of the handle, and on the handle itself where the forefinger rests, giving constant tactile feedback on blade position even in low light or with wet hands.

Handle

The handle is made from Micarta, a composite of linen or canvas fabric layered with resin, prized for its durability and secure grip even when wet or bloody. At 5.4oz total weight, the knife stays light and maneuverable through extended field work.

Carry

The Rut ships with a black Kydex modular sheath built for ambidextrous carry, allowing it to be configured for either side of the body. As a fixed blade, there is no lock to manage - the full construction keeps the knife solid and ready to deploy instantly in the field.
