Rivery MFG is an American machine shop turned EDC brand, run by founder Michael Sayers out of Sevierville, Tennessee, in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. A mechanical engineer by background, Sayers started the operation as Rivery CNC in 2019, building fidget toys, EDC trinkets, and precision parts before the shop's knack for satisfying, tactile machining pointed it toward knives.
That turn came in early 2024, when Rivery CNC became Rivery Manufacturing and released the Zero, a billet-cut utility knife that took the EDC world by storm. The Zero is a manual out-the-front utility knife machined from 6061 aluminum, running standard replaceable utility blades behind a haptic, fidget-friendly action that buyers describe as smooth as butter and hard to put down. It comes in a rotating lineup of patterns, finishes, and colors, with later versions like the Zero V2 and Kickstarter-funded Zero-G expanding the line.
Everything is made in the USA and engineered for feel as much as function, where every curve, texture, and click is deliberate. That mix of precision machining and genuine American grit has made Rivery one of the most talked-about names in modern EDC, popular enough that the Zero now has copycats chasing the original.
