The Guppy Midtech is a collaboration between Serge Panchenko and Millit Knives, pairing Serge's design and handle finishing with Millit's blade manufacturing out of Idaho. It's built for collectors and flipper enthusiasts who want a fast-action folder with an unconventional lock mechanism.
Blade
The 2.73" sheepsfoot blade is made from MagnaCut steel with a deep hollow grind and an acid washed and tumbled finish. MagnaCut is a modern powder steel known for excellent edge retention, strong corrosion resistance, and toughness that outperforms most stainless steels on the market. The sheepsfoot shape offers a flat edge and controlled tip, useful for precise cutting tasks. Deployment is via flipper tab, riding on bearings for a light, fast action.
Handle
The handle is machined from 6AL4V titanium with acid washed and tumbled covers finished by hand by Serge. Titanium is lightweight, corrosion resistant, and durable, giving the knife a total weight of just 4.3oz. The clip, lock release button, blade stop, and standoff are all titanium as well, with stainless steel screws throughout.
Carry
This knife uses a Hawk Lock by Hawk Knives is a licensed mechanism built from AEB-L steel that locks the blade open and releases via a dedicated button rather than a traditional liner or frame lock face. The pocket clip is set up for right-hand, tip-up carry only. It ships in an OD Green nylon pouch branded with Serge Panchenko's SP logo.
Made in the USA.
