The Alala is part of Spartan Blades' collaboration with KA-BAR Knives, manufactured in Olean, NY. The 3.75-inch drop point blade is flat ground from 1095 Cro-Van steel at 56-58 HRC—a high-carbon tool steel chosen for toughness and edge retention in hard-use applications. The black powder coat protects against corrosion while maintaining a subdued tactical appearance.
Curtis Iovito designed the Alala with ergonomics as a priority. The full-tang construction meets textured CE Canvas Micarta handles available in black or green, providing a secure grip whether wet or dry. At 7.88 inches overall and under 5 ounces, it's sized for comfortable all-day carry without unnecessary bulk.
The injection-molded sheath features an active retention thumb lever and secondary retention strap, offering multiple carry configurations while keeping the blade secure. Made in the USA with a lifetime warranty on materials and craftsmanship.
Alala takes its name from ancient Greek—meaning "battle-cry" or "war-cry." In Greek mythology, Alala was the personification of the war cry that soldiers used to strike fear into enemy lines before combat. It's a fitting name for a fixed blade designed to be ready when you need it.
