Spyderco Para 3 Dark Gray G-10 - Maxamet Blade

This elite version of the Spyderco Para 3 combines all the defining qualities of this best in class folding knife with the extreme edge retention and toughness of Maxamet blade steel. Carpenter Technology developed Micro-Melt Maxamet specifically for use in the rollers of their state of the art steel mills, and its properties transcend conventional high speed tool steels, approaching those of the cemented carbides used to machine other steels. As one of only a handful of companies to master the specialized methods needed to machine, heat treat, and grind this exotic alloy, Spyderco is proud to offer it in select American made products.

The three inch full flat ground blade delivers the outstanding edge holding that Maxamet is known for, staying sharp through demanding cutting tasks that would dull lesser steels. A textured index finger choil and thumb ramp give you a solid, forward positioned grip for control during precise cutting, while the fully accessible Trademark Round Hole allows swift, one handed opening with either hand. Signature dark gray textured G-10 scales set this version apart and mark it as a member of Spyderco's elite Maxamet family.

To keep it slim and pocket friendly, the Para 3 uses a lightweight open backed construction with stainless steel liners nested into the G-10 scales, providing a solid foundation for the high strength Compression Lock. A four position hourglass clip offers ambidextrous tip up or tip down carry, and an oversized lined lanyard hole rounds out the design for easy attachment of fobs and lanyards.
