The Sage 6 is Spyderco's tribute to custom knifemaker Kevin Smock's Button-Release Compression Lock. This elite version combines a high-performance blade steel with distinctive burnt-orange G-10 handles, making it ideal for knife enthusiasts who demand exceptional edge retention and a unique aesthetic.

Blade

The 3.0" satin-finished blade is made from Rex 121, a high-vanadium, cobalt-bearing tool steel known for its exceptional sharpness and unparalleled edge retention. Rex 121 is designed for users who prioritize long-lasting sharpness, though it requires careful maintenance to prevent chipping due to its high hardness (68-72 HRC).

Handle

The handle features distinctive burnt-orange peel-ply-textured G-10 scales. G-10 is a fiberglass laminate material known for its toughness, lightweight properties, and resistance to moisture, chemicals, and temperature extremes. It provides an aggressive grip and is ideal for hard-use applications.

Carry

The Sage 6 uses a Button-Release Compression Lock, a novel variation of Spyderco's original compression lock mechanism. It includes a reversible deep-pocket wire clip for left or right-side tip-up carry, offering versatility in how you carry the knife.
