9Cr18MoV Fixed Blade with G-10 Handles
The Spyderco Yurco Ginunting is a collaboration between knife manufacturer Spyderco and retired law enforcement officer Mickey Yurco, who brings decades of martial arts and knifemaking experience. The design draws inspiration from the traditional Filipino ginunting, featuring a modern take with its compact size and distinctive concave Wharncliffe-style blade profile. This geometry enhances cutting leverage while maintaining a point suitable for thrusting.
Blade
This fixed blade measures 8.08" in length and has a thickness of 0.169". It is made from 9Cr18MoV stainless steel, known for its balance of hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The blade features a flat-ground finish with a harpoon-style swedge that reinforces an acute point, ideal for penetration.
Handle
The handle is constructed from G-10 scales, offering durability and water resistance. It is contoured for comfort, polished for grip, and secured to the full tang by eight sets of Torx fasteners. The design includes an integral lower guard, a lined lanyard hole, and a flared fantail butt, enhancing control during dynamic use.
Carry
This knife comes with a custom-molded Boltaron sheath that features a belt mount for easy carry. The sheath ensures secure storage while allowing quick access when needed.
