Tactile Turn's Side Click pen is the brand's take on the all-metal click mechanism, machined in the USA from solid barstock and inspired by the original Mitsubishi Boxy design. Designed by Will Hodges, the Side Click sits alongside the Bolt Action as one of Tactile Turn's two core mechanisms, with a push-button deployment that operates at the same precision tolerances as the rest of the lineup. The result is a satisfying click action paired with the brand's signature grooved texture.
The Side Click runs a custom two-piece mechanism that Tactile Turn designed from the ground up to handle a lifetime of daily clicks. Pressing the side button advances or retracts the refill in a single motion, and the all metal construction means there are no plastic components to wear or fail over time. The mechanism produces a deeper, more satisfying click sound than typical retractable pens, which is part of what has made the Side Click a fidget favorite alongside the Bolt Action.
The Side Click ships in three sizes that match the Bolt Action lineup. Standard at 5.6 inches, Short at 5.1 inches, and Mini at 4.4 inches. The Standard takes a Pilot G2 0.7mm refill, the Short runs a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium, and the Mini accepts the Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm. Refill swaps follow the same process as every other Tactile Turn pen, with twist-off threading at the tip.
The Slim Side Click carries the same click mechanism, refill compatibility, and three-length structure in a thinner 9.2mm body. The Slim variant ships with a milled titanium clip rather than the bent stainless steel deep-carry clip used on the Standard diameter, which matches the rest of the slim family across the Slim Bolt Action and Pencil. For users who want the click mechanism without the heft, the Slim is the pick.
The deep-carry pocket clip. The Slim Side Click uses the milled titanium clip system shared across the slim family, available in plain titanium, DLC titanium, or titanium Damascus as a premium upgrade. Damascus clips are also available on select Standard Side Click configurations, with the patterned titanium clip providing visual contrast against the body material.
