The WE Tally is a limited edition titanium flipper built around a 3.91 inch Bohler M390 reverse tanto. WE Knife Company produces each colorway as a small run, and every knife carries its own serial number and ships with a signed certificate of authenticity, so the Tally works as a collector piece that still earns its place in the pocket at just 4.06 ounces.
The reverse tanto puts the angle on the spine side, leaving a long straight edge that runs cleanly into a strong, low point. That geometry makes controlled cuts easy, from breaking down boxes to scoring and stripping, and the reinforced tip handles light prying without drama. The Tally's blade is flat ground from 0.16 inch stock. Reverse tantos sit apart from traditional profiles, and our tanto blade knives collection covers the rest of the family.
M390 is a powder metallurgy stainless from Bohler, loaded with chromium and vanadium for long edge life and strong corrosion resistance. WE runs the Tally's blade at 58 to 61 HRC depending on the finish, which keeps the long straight edge sharp through a lot of cutting between touch ups. See how it compares with 20CV, MagnaCut, and other premium steels in our knife steel comparison.
The handle, back spacer, clip, and screws are all 6AL4V titanium. A flipper tab drives the blade on caged ceramic ball bearings, and the frame lock bar, cut from the handle itself, moves in behind the tang to hold it open. At 8.68 inches open, 4.77 inches closed, and 0.51 inches thick, the Tally carries a nearly 4 inch blade in a slim, light frame, riding tip up on a titanium clip for right hand carry.
All three versions share the same blade, lock, and dimensions, so the decision is about finish. The 23090-1 is fully blacked out, with black titanium and a black stonewashed blade with satin flats that add a two tone contrast. The 23090-2 pairs polished bead blasted titanium with a hand rubbed satin blade. The 23090-3 goes polished gray on both handle and blade, the cleanest look of the three.
