Emulsion

Includes 7ml bottles of 1-Micron (blue) and 0.5-Micron (yellow) water-based polycrystalline diamond emulsion. These are finishing compounds meant to follow up after the 3000 Grit Diamond Stone or 3-Micron Diamond Lapping Film, refining the edge further than stones alone can achieve. Each application lasts through roughly 15 to 20 sharpening sessions before you need to reapply.

Strops

Leather strops carry the emulsion and are used to polish the edge with light, trailing strokes. Leather flexes slightly under pressure, which helps remove the last microscopic burrs left behind from coarser abrasives.

Use

Apply a small amount of emulsion to the leather strop and work through the grits from 1-Micron down to 0.5-Micron for a mirror-polished, refined edge. This step is optional but recommended for anyone chasing maximum sharpness and edge retention.
