Item: HZK-005
The Hir Zukuri from Williams Blade Design, made by Primitive Woodsman in Boone, North Carolina, is a compact fixed blade suited for everyday carry. This limited batch of 75 pieces features a black canvas micarta handle and continues the design platform found in the larger HZT and HZO models.
Blade
The 4.5" blade uses 80CrV2 carbon steel with a hira zukuri grind, a Japanese blade style with flat sides that taper directly to the edge without a distinct bevel. 80CrV2 is a tough, high-carbon steel that resists chipping and takes a sharp edge quickly, making it well suited to hard field use. The blackwash finish adds a mottled, low-glare surface that also helps mask wear.
Handle
The handle is built from black canvas micarta, a composite made by resin-impregnating layers of canvas fabric under pressure. It is stable, grippy even when wet, and develops texture with use. At 4.73oz total weight, the knife carries light for its size.
Carry
The knife ships with a low-profile lined kydex sheath fitted with a pull the dot loop for secure, adjustable belt carry. As a fixed blade, there is no lock mechanism - the full tang construction provides its strength and reliability.
Made in Boone, North Carolina, USA.
