RWL34 Fixed Blade with Micarta Handles

The Shobu Zukuri Tanto is the largest blade in Williams Blade Design's Shobu Zukuri series, built for makers and collectors who want a full-sized fixed blade that still carries easily. This limited run features a black DLC coated blade and double black Micarta handle with no markings, giving it a completely sterile appearance.

Blade

The 5.7" blade is ground from RWL34, a Swedish powder metallurgy steel produced by Damasteel known for its purity and balance of corrosion resistance, edge retention, and toughness. It remains easy to sharpen despite that balance. The Shobu Zukuri profile uses a classic grind that delivers strong lateral strength alongside solid cutting performance. A DLC coating darkens the blade and adds surface hardness while reducing glare.

Handle

The handle is finished in double black canvas Micarta, a composite made from linen or canvas cloth layered with resin under pressure. It is dense, stable in changing conditions, and develops a good grip texture with use. At 5.8oz, the knife stays light for its 10" overall length.

Carry

The knife ships with a Kydex sheath, a rigid thermoplastic that offers secure retention and quiet draw. It supports multiple carry configurations depending on how you set up the attachment hardware.
