The Bear Claw Gen 2 from Work Tuff Gear is a large camp knife built for chopping, trail clearing, and processing firewood. It builds on the Kodiak's design with a finger choil and blade groove for added control during detail work, making it a capable one-tool option for extended outdoor trips.
Blade
The 10.7" drop point blade is made from SKS51 steel with a copper washed finish at .263" thick. SKS51 is a tough steel that holds up well to repeated impact, making it a solid choice for chopping tasks and batoning. A partial false edge along the spine adds versatility, and the blade profile is well-suited to carving feather sticks and preparing tinder.
Handle
The handle is built from Micarta, a resin-impregnated linen or canvas material known for its durability and secure grip, even in wet conditions. At 26.1oz total weight, the knife has enough heft for chopping while remaining controllable. The design also allows users to choke up into a forward grip for more precise cutting tasks.
Carry
The Bear Claw ships with a Kydex sheath, offering a rigid, weather-resistant carry option that protects the edge and allows for secure retention in the field. No lock mechanism is needed here, as this is a fixed blade knife with a solid, one-piece construction from tip to tang.
Made in Taiwan.
